Maison & Objet Parigi September 2017

Maison & Objet Paris

We were selected to exhibit at “What’s New?” in HALL 3 of Maison&Objet and our preview is an Azilal Berber rug from the High Atlas in Morocco.

Tappeto Azilai

The rugs from this region are known for their white background, soft wool and designs that trace geometries with symbolism that varies depending of the specific place of origin. All these artisan-made objects are the creative expression and the inspiration of the moment of the woman weaving them, therefore every rug is a one-of-a-kind work of art. The material used is mostly wool, which gives a natural hue to the background and then combines with other colours in unique design creations. Perfect for a home furnished in a contemporary style, but is also a good match for spaces with more classic connotations.

Artistic Harmonies at Maison&Objet from 8 to 12 September

At stand L29 HALL 5B, in the ACTUEL section entirely dedicated to homes, after Mohamed El Alami’s long journey through the original areas of the High and Middle Atlas, we present a collection of antique and contemporary rugs from the regions of Ben Ourain, Azilal and Talsent that create style, such as the Boucherouite.

These items are unique, original and completely woven and knotted by the expert hands of the women in the Berber tribes, who carefully pick multi-coloured fabrics and put them together with marvellous artistic harmonies, perfect for a touch of colour and brightness to modern homes furnished in an all-too-rigorous fashion.
