Beni Ourain Rugs

Here, we’re talking about the most famous Berber rugs, distinguished by the contrast of natural white and pigmented black. Material is thanks to the looms of the women of the Medio Atlante tribes. Being for Nomadic use, they are usually very big because they serve as floors in Berber tents. The yarn is 100% wool and is not dyed, leaving the black dyed wool only for decorating the Beni Ourain Rug in typical tribal symbology.

The softness of the untreated wool has for centuries been the best solution for sleeping on or covering oneself in freezing desert nights.

The Berber rug making process has made Beni Ourain rugs not only hard-wearing but also warm and useful, both front and back.
