Afolki Tappeti Berberi was founded by Mohamed El Alami with the principal objective of spreading Berber culture in Europe by means of intruducing handcrafted objects such as rugs, wicker products, tents and decorative objects for the home.

In business for many years, Afolki has worked with numerous architects and interior designers towards the realisation of highly regarded furnishing projects as well as the staging of art exhibitions.

Afolki is a player in principal sector events such as Maison&Objet in Paris, Ambiente in Frankfurt and Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Afolki’s rugs come from people whose north-African nomadic desert culture has endured through the ages. The rugs are selected and acquired independently and without middle men. Such rugs are made available for sale to wholesalers and retailers.

Moreover, Afolki collaborates with key textile cooperatives in Morocco which act as custodians of the Berber tradition, symbology and techniques. They are also able to produce rugs which embody the spirit of specific projects proposed by European interior designers. In fact the production of personalised pieces represents one of the most popular requests from Afolki’s professional clientele.
